On This Day, 9 April 2013, Alfie Boe Sang…

...It’s Only Love at the Royal Albert Hall on the Storyteller tour.

I love Alfie Boe singing Elvis (and I know that lots of you feel the same) and I couldn’t help dancing around the kitchen whilst I was supposed to be writing this.  Come on, I dare you not to feel like getting up and dancing when you hear this too!

I eventually stopped dancing for long enough to write this and as I watched once or twice, or maybe even more (!) I spotted some great friends in the audience including my lovely friend, Costa Linda who I am shortly seeing for lunch.  It’s lovely Linda’s birthday on 11th April so Happy Birthday lovely!

I was privileged to attend this concert and even more privileged to meet some wonderful people who have become firm friends since I’ve been a fan of Alfie.  Here are some of them at a very cold stage door (Linda W’s, aka jellytots Linda, photo, although she’s in it so think it was Pauline’s husband Paul who actually took it!).

The Two Linda’s are just two of the fabulous friends I’ve made in the last few years – click here to read their Alfie stories.  It’s worth it just to find out how they got their nicknames! If you would like to feature in an Alfie’s Fan Family story, leave a comment!

30,000 Blog Hits – That’s A Lot Of Alfie Boe Fans!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first started this blog, back on a wordpress site in July 2013, I was happy to hit 100 visitors – the fact that I knew them all didn’t matter one iota.  However, this blogging thing is just a little bit addictive and once I started, I couldn’t stop.  The longer I went on, the more I blogged and the more I blogged, the more visitors came along and that’s when I made the scary decision to move from a purely wordpress blog to my own site.  That was almost a year ago now and things have moved on somewhat!

When I moved to this current site, I had some targets in mind: how often to blog, to do some interviews, to feature some fan stories, to engage with as many Alfie Boe fans as possible and to share my passion with as many other fans as possible.  One of my targets was to attract the same amount of visitors to the new site as visited the old site – that happened in the first 3 months of transferring! (Not bad considering the stats don’t transfer over, you have to start again).

Then, I had a new number in my head: 30,000 hits.  Don’t ask my why I chose that particular number, it just popped into my head, same as pretty much everything else blog related pops into my head!

So thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has visited this site since May 2014 – each and every one of you is appreciated.  Especial thanks to everyone who has been with me since the beginning – you know who you are and I love you all.

And now we’re on our way to the next target – so spread the word! Sharing is caring so tweet and share on Facebook as many times as you like!

And don’t forget, if you want to see something on the blog – just leave me a comment or contact me here.

thanks for reading and sharing!

Easter Memories with Alfie Boe

Easter in 2013 was a bit earlier than in 2014, which meant that we were all done and dusted by the end of March. In the UK, this coincided with the coldest winter and spring for 50 years – it was bitter! However, for those of us who are Alfie Boe fans, this meant we had plenty of time in which to stand around the various stage doors of Alfie’s first arena tour, Storyteller. The one that springs to mind is the Royal Albert Hall which was perishing but lovely as we all had time to chat. Many people had come a long way to see Alfie, including Margie from Australia and Roberta from New York (click here for their Alfie story) and waiting at stage doors became a way of chatting with fans we had previously only met online.
Easter Sunday last year was 31 March and Alfie’s tour date that night was in Plymouth. There is not as much YouTube footage from this one as some of the other tour dates and so it is one of those that tends to be overlooked. Let’s put that right. This is one of my favourite songs from the Storyteller tour, Jim Hendrix’s Angel:

By the way, some readers have asked how I choose the video clips for the blog. There’s no mystery about it, they’re just the ones I like the best and that fit with the required theme! If anyone wants to suggest videos for future blogs, please share by commenting here xx
